Kate Koei is a counselling therapist (CCC) in private practice, certified grief educator and clinical supervisor working with individuals, couples and families. She has also been a speaker on various issues including grief and loss, domestic violence, suicide prevention and mom guilt within the immigrant and Black communities.

As a member of the community guidance group that is working towards fostering violence prevention and well-being for Black women, families and communities, she hopes to create awareness on the impact of domestic violence within the Black community, through engaging, educating and empowering women and families to strive towards health and well-being.

On a larger scale, she aims at advocating for spaces that are curious, sensitive and validating to the experiences and needs of those that are culturally different. Kate enjoys hiking and the outdoors, travelling, listening to music, cooking and movies/theatre.
