Nhial Wicleek is a doctoral candidate with a designation of Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and is an active member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Nhial has extensive experience working for the Calgary Catholic School District as a District Wellness Worker with students from K-12 and adult clients for over 11yrs. As part of his career, Nhial expanded his professional engagement by working with refugees in a refugee camp where he worked as an expert psychotherapist/trainer with refugee clients who came out of war related trauma from their country of origin.
Nhial has expertise in the following areas: anxiety, depression, trauma & PTSD, substance use disorders, anger management, stress management, identity crisis, self-esteem, ADHD, and ODD. As a Prevention Therapist, Nhial brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the project, to support developing prevention strategies that address DV in Black communities. In his work, Nhial employs a nonjudgmental approach in a holistic manner.
