As a dedicated and compassionate child and youth worker, Tanisha Edwards is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals facing mental illness within community and school settings. With a strong focus on supporting the well-being and empowerment of Black people, she aims at creating inclusive spaces and fostering growth and resilience. Throughout her career, she has developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with mental illness associated with domestic violence, particularly within BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities. Recognizing the importance of representation and culturally sensitive care, she has taken on the role of a content creator, striving to produce materials that resonate and provide support specifically tailored to the needs of BIPOC communities. As a Community Guidance Group member to the project, she will use her knowledge of mental health disorders, therapeutic techniques, and intervention strategies, to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and social challenges of DV.
