Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW)

ABSW has multiple projects that are designed to provide efficient responses and strong community support for victims and survivors of DV. The Sexual Violence and Human Trafficking Supports and Prevention Project uses a trauma informed, Africentric approach in assisting African Nova Scotian children and youth who are victims/survivors of sexual exploitation/trafficking. Additionally, they have a Child Welfare Committee that offers culturally appropriate assistance for Black Nova Scotian families through educational resources and referrals regarding concerns of child welfare and family violence.
