Tropicana Community Services

Tropicana Community Services was founded in 1980 as a not-for-profit community service centre by Robert Brown with co-founder Derrick McLennon with the goal of serving disadvantaged youth and families of Black, African, and Caribbean heritage. Through the Enhanced Youth Outreach Worker program (EYOW), Tropicana is able to provide support for Black youth (ages 9-25) and families experiencing domestic violence. EYOW offers free in-person or virtual sessions to clients that include information on accessing community resources, such as food and housing security, employment and financial support, counselling, and childcare and settlement services. They also have a service for Violence Against Women Counselling, which they offer in-person, through the phone, or virtually.
