Research Assistant
Mimo (they/them) recently graduated from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, minoring in women and gender studies. Mimo’s research interests involve examining social justice and inequality through various theoretical frameworks, including intersectional feminism, postcolonialism, critical race theory, and/or queer theory.
Mimo is currently working on multiple projects as a research assistant for Dr. Duhaney. They hope to utilize their background in social science and gender studies and incorporate a unique perspective into these projects. Aside from rock climbing and ceramics, Mimo is passionate about working with children and providing safe learning opportunities for marginalized communities, particularly racialized and/or immigrant and refugee children.
