Co-Investigator
Sheryl Thompson is a registered social worker practicing for over 15+ years in Ontario and is a co-investigator on the project. Sheryl hopes to make a positive contribution to this project by using her knowledge working within the intimate partner violence (IPV) sector for 15+ years. Sheryl has worked with women and children fleeing violence in shelters, provided psychoeducation in groups, worked with perpetrators of violence offering counselling and support services, and has been a part of abuser intervention programs.
As an educator for the past decade, Sheryl has taught in academic spaces in Canada and the United States; a key component of her work is her ability to infuse concepts such as trauma informed care, anti-colonial, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and critical race theories and practices across disciplines such as social work, massage therapy, emergency and fire services programs. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, travelling, and spending time with family.
